What type of mom are you?
Hello world! I’m a mom of two kids ages 4 and 2. I love reading other mommy blogs and trying to figure out if my parenting style is similar to other moms or not. Weird? Oh well. So because of this I found out about silky, crunchy, and scrunchy. I had no idea these were even a thing till like 2 years ago.

There are a bunch of quizzes online that you can take to see which one you are. I just looked up what each of them were and figured out what I was.
Are you silky?
If you are a silky mom, then you typically use western medicine, use whatever brand of sunscreen you can find, eat fast food, had a hospital birth, use disposable diapers, crib sleeping, and your kids have unlimited screen time. these women are usually referred to as “modern women”. So if you can relate to some or all of these then you might be silky.
Are you crunchy?
If you are a crunchy mom, then you take more of a holistic approach. Like, essential oils, tinctures, and eat only whole foods. These moms typically had an unmedicated at-home birth, have technology and plastic-free toys, eat mainly organic foods, co-sleep with all of their kids, and use cloth diapers. So if you can relate to this list then you might be crunchy!
Are you scrunchy?
So this term is used to describe moms that use a mixture of both silky and crunchy methods in raising their kids. So scrunchy moms practice a little bit of both and get to decide which things they like. They can choose to go to a hospital and breastfeed their baby. They can use western medicines and use cloth diapers.
Why I’m scrunchy!
To me, this just seems to be the best of both worlds. I don’t like to fit into one box and so I like to just do me and what’s best for my family. I know that most mothers are doing the same and that’s great! I love that we, as moms, get to decide how we want to raise our kids.
So whichever one you are, silky, crunchy, or scrunchy, just know that you are doing right by your kid! I know I’m trying to do right by my kids!
Have a blessed day!
